AfrII’s Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project staff

AfrII, Conservation International (CI) and the Ministry of Water and Environment (MoWE) with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) are implementing the CBIT Project aimed at Strengthening the Capacity of Institutions in Uganda to Comply with the Transparency Requirements of the Paris Agreement in Uganda.  The main components of the project are:

(1) establishing & strengthening the institutional arrangements for robust GHG emission inventory and MRV System;

(2) building the capacity of key stakeholders to collect, process and feed gender disaggregated data into the GHG emissions inventory and MRV system and;

(3) testing and piloting the GHG emission inventory and MRV system.

AfrII’s Fostering Sustainability and Resilience for Food Security in the Karamoja Sub-region (SURE-FS) project staff  

AfrII, UNDP, FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) are implementing the Fostering sustainability and resilience for food security in the Karamoja sub-region (SURE-FS) project. The project aims to contribute to enhancing long-term environmental sustainability and resilience of food production systems to improve food security in the Karamoja sub-region.  The project will be implemented in four districts: Kaabong, Kotido, Moroto and Nakapiripirit. AfrII will implement component 3 (Outcome 3) which focuses on monitoring and assessment framework for Global Environmental Benefits (GEBs) and Socio-Economic Benefits (SEBs). The project will achieve its objective through three interlinked outcomes:

(1) Strengthened institutional frameworks for improving food security,

(2) Scaling-up integrated approaches at national and landscape level and

(3) Monitoring and Assessment.
