Africa Innovations Institute (AfrII) is an indigenous, not-for-profit non-governmental center of excellence, established in 2005 with the aim of undertaking research and innovations development on agriculture and food systems to ensure sustainable increase in farmers’ income, food and nutrition security and environmental sustainability in Eastern and Central Africa.

AfrII envisions small holder farmers enjoying increased incomes and assured of food and nutrition security and the organization’s mission is to undertake innovative research and consulting services that transform the lives and incomes of small holder farmers while ensuring food and nutrition security and environmental sustainability.

With support from the International Development Research Center (IDRC), AfrII has implemented a research project “Adaptation to the Impact of Climate Variability on Food and Health Security in the Cattle Corridor of Uganda” under the organizational objective “To facilitate learning and bridge information gaps through managing our knowledge base, publishing our research findings, sharing of lessons learnt and holding of conferences, seminars and camps.”
